    Participation In The 1st Conference On Pharmaceutical Law

    Koumentakis & Associates Law Firm participated in the 1st conference on Pharmaceutical Law, whereas it was represented by Stavros Koumentakis, Senior PartnerKonstantinos KornilakisPartner and Lambros TimotheouPartner.

    The conference, which has been organized by the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), took place on 8 December and was widely recognized by both the legal and the pharmaceutical world. The participation of more than 250 people has highlighted the industry’s need for information on the labyrinthous legal framework of the sector and for the exchange of views on difficult issues such as transparency, ethics and others.

    Mrs. Dimitra Lembesi, Legal Advisor of SFEE, opened the conference by highlighting, among other things, the importance of the best possible regulatory framework for the improvement of the healthcare system for patients and by presenting the efforts of SFEE to this respect.

    For her part, Mrs. Marie- Claire Pickaert, director of EFPIA referred in detail to the latter’s actions to ensure patients’ access to the medicine through the best possible regulatory framework in all European countries.

    Mr. Paschalis Apostolides, President of SFEE, also welcomed the conference, highlighting the importance of the regulatory framework and the consultation process, and as it became known, SFEE will reiterate the initiative for more information.

    All speakers, leading lawyers and doctors, developed their themes with excellent presentations, analytical and documentary, which included the latest developments in the field of law and jurisprudence, of Greek and European courts, and in the field of science.

    Alexandra Mikroulea is an Associate Professor on Commercial Law in the Faculty of Law at the Athens University. She also works in the Legal Department of the National Bank of Greece specifically as the Head of the Competition Law Department. Alexandra is the author of several books on Competition Law, Banking Law, Corporate and Commercial Law, she has published numerous articles in Greek and international law journals and she is a regular speaker at conferences in Greece and abroad.

    Alexandra specializes in Competition Law, Corporate Law, Trademark and Patent Law, Securities Regulation and Banking Law, while she retains regular contact with the Hellenic Competition Commission, as well as all other relevant public institutions and ministries.

    World Champions In F1 In Schools!

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The Greek school team Infinite Racing, which consists of students from Mandoulides Schools, won the F1 world class simulation contest, the Greek flag waved at the highest point, while the National Anthem was heard in distant Austin, Texas.

    In Koumentakis & Associates Law FirmΟΥΜΕΝΤΑΚΗΣ & ΣΥΝΕΡΓΑΤΕΣ we were already proud to support this effort, but victory and World First Lead gave us great joy and inspires us to continue, because it is shown that with Perseverance, Patience, Imagination, Innovation we can realize our Dreams!

    The members of Infinite Racing team took the lead in “F1 in Schools 2016” world competition in the design, construction and speed race of Formula 1 racing cars, and received the Bernie Ecclestone trophy. The Greek children dominated among 39 teams from 23 countries, totaling 852,3 points, compared to 837,8 points of the second group from Australia and to 770,5 points from the third from Germany.

    The members of the group are the High School students, Kyriakos Theofanidis, Charalambos Kalfas, Vasilia Niavi, Stylianos Mavromatis and Angeliki Samara, with supervisor Professor Ioannis Daountakis.

     

    At “F1 in Schools”, students work in groups of three to six people with specific responsibilities and roles each (team leader, model F1 designer, model F1 manufacturer, graphic designer, marketing and communications officer, resource manager, design manager and website development and social networking tools). Each team prepares a detailed action plan and resource management plan. The parts of the project depend on each other and each member of the team must at all times observe and be aware of the progress of the other.

    The Greek team was also awarded with the Pressure Challenge Award, the Knockout Competition Winner, the Team Website Award, the Enterprise Portfolio Award, the Finalist Best Engineered Car Award Pressure Challenge, the Knockout Competition and Team Website. At the same time, it received scholarships at City University London and at the Engineering Department of University College London.

     

    The announcement of the team: OUR DREAM CAME TRUE ! We are delighted to announce you that we are the WORLD CHAMPIONS of 2016 and the first Greek team to reach the podium!! We can’t still believe it. Most of it we would like to thank everyone, one by one who helped us to be here because without our precious collaborators’ help everything would be impossible. Congratulations to all the teams, wherever you have come from, we are all winner!! We all lived our dream and we can all accept that this was a lifetime experience. Every team is unique and awesome. We all thank F1 in Schools for the chance we all have been given to. We can all say that f1 in schools have changed our lives, we have all evolved as personalities! We dreamed-we imagined-we created-we innovated-we made our dream come true!     The congress was held at Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje on 18 and 19 October 2016 and this year’s event focused on best practices in legal planning, alternative legal practices in law firms, innovation, talent management, and on the presentation of innovative companies. The congress honored with their presence, well-known speakers from Sweden, Great Britain, Slovenia, France and Italy. Among them, Konstantinos Kornilakis, Partner of Koumentakis & Associates Law Firm, who in his speech developed his experience of the Greek market and the way in which a legal brand can exploit the opportunities for growth in an Economic Crisis environment.

    Under the general title “Practicing Law in Environment of Economic Crisis-Development and Challenges for the Present and the Future”, Konstantinos began his presentation with the changes that took place in the Greek economy after the Big Boom of 2004 and with their consequences in the field of law firms. He then presented how Koumentakis & Associates Law Firm responded to the Crisis by investing in Technology, Human Resources, Customer Relationship and to the commitment to the healthiest market sectors with high quality services.

    Alliance For Digital Employability

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Recently, Koumentakis & Associates Law Firm undertook the full support of the “Alliance for Digital Employability”.

    The Vision of this initiative is to reduce Unemployment in Greece through the creation of 500.000 new jobs in the IT sector in the next decade. The action area is, primarily, Greece, with the aim to reduce domestic unemployment and the supply and demand gap for high-level digital skills.

    As documented by a special study, the above Vision can be realized with actions that will aim at:

    (a) accelerated training of candidates in high-quality digital skills

    (b) the certification of the skills they have acquired;

    (c) their absorption from the labor market

    As stated in the relevant announcement, “In order to implement these actions, it is necessary to involve the private and public sectors in the field of education and the labor market, while the key success factor will be the implementation of concrete practical proposals to mobilize more forces”.

    Koumentakis & Associates Law Firm and all those who support the Digital Employability Alliance, will contribute to the creation and coordination of the necessary actions to implement the Vision of this initiative to reduce the digital divide and unemployment.
